Speaking during Friday prayers, Shia cleric Mohamad Hussein Fadlallah stated that Lebanon was balanced between political mutual accusations regarding the Cabinet formation issue. He regretted that Cabinet formation achievement turned into a score for “the Lebanese political team”, while Lebanese officials had to be more responsible.
Fadlallah raised concerns about political frictions and tensions that “only aimed to destabilize the domestic situation so to link it to foreign agendas and, therefore, lead to complicate the formation process more and more”.
The Shia cleric called on all Lebanese leaders to assume their responsibilities and refrain from putting obstacles to meet private and foreign interests. He concluded that “people fear the Cabinet formation delay is a way to put away any solution and prepare, instead, for a civil discord where Lebanese fight to meet the interests of foreign countries”.
